Sustainability

The protection of our environment is of utmost importance to us. We are convinced that many small steps point the way to a sustainable use of natural resources. That is why we do our best to contribute to the protection and conservation of the environment on every single day - and we also rely on the support of our guests.

Lighting

Turn the light on - but only when you needed. Many of the lamps in the corridors of the hotel react to motion detectors and thus automatically light up only when needed. In addition, we have switched to particularly energy-saving LED lamps for 80% of the lighting fixtures, thus conserving energy.

Saving Energy

Electricity only flows in our hotel rooms when it is really necessary. As soon as a guest enters his room, the current flow is activated by inserting the key card. When leaving the room, all power sources are interrupted by removing the card.

Hand and Bath Towels

It is not necessary to use a new towel every day. Therefore we ask our guests to hang up their towels and bath towels if they wish to continue using them. Only towels lying on the floor will be replaced. This not only saves many times more water and energy, but also helps to reduce the environmental impact of detergents.

Shampoo and Shower Gel

As much as necessary and as less as possible: By using dosage dispensers we help to ensure that shampoo and shower gel are used sparingly.

Waste Separation

Batteries, glass, waste paper, cardboard, PET, aluminium, special waste: Properly disposed of waste can be fed into the recycling cycle and in the best case reused or recycled. For example, food leftovers that are used to produce valuable green electricity. Waste separation is therefore a particular concern for us and is passed on to each of our employees through training courses.

Water Consumption

Every drop counts - also and especially in a hotel. That is why we use special aerators in our taps to enrich the water jet with air. This drastically reduces the consumption of drinking water. And this without noticeable sacrifice, because the aerator also makes the water jet feel pleasantly full and soft. Furthermore, we reduce water consumption through the consistent use of 2-stage flushing in all WCs.

Save Paper

Digitizing instead of printing: To reduce paper consumption and the resulting environmental impact, we have transferred our invoice filing system to a digital filing system. Invoices are processed electronically and paper printouts are largely avoided.

Food

Often, edible food is thrown away. A form of food waste that we want to avoid. For this reason, we are glad to offer our guests the opportunity to have their uneaten meals packed free of charge so that they can enjoy them later at home. In this way we can make a joint ecological contribution.

Swisstainable

Nature touches us when we leave it untouched. Switzerland as a travel destination stands for spectacular mountains, wild gorges, mystical forests; our nature has the power to give energy. We want to preserve this - for many generations to come.

We are proud to be part of the "Swisstainable" sustainability program in Swiss tourism with the AMERON Zurich Bellerive au Lac. Swisstainable aims to help guests gain more orientation in the area of sustainable travel.
